Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

What are Court Appointed Special Advocates?

Volunteers with a desire to help children in the foster care system can make a big difference as Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASAs. The volunteers get to know the children and how well they are doing at home and school, helping decide whether the conditions the child's face are healthy, based upon medical records and other information.

What’s required to be a volunteer?

Court Appointed Special Advocates come from a wide variety of backgrounds and don’t need to have social services and child welfare experience, as the program requires 30 hours of training to get the person well versed in the process.
